Puzzle Description:

This years Canadian Open Golf Tournament is being held at a new course that features the first par 7 hole on the PGA tour. Because of the length of the hole, players were allowed to carry specialty clubs in their bag for their tee shots. This player chose an AK47 in place of a conventional driver.

That'll keep those groundhogs away from his ball!

I've never heard of a par 7 hole before. Unless you had to go uphill and through a windmill. ;)

That's the joke of it all Kristen, there is no such thing as a par 7,and i'm not sure if any course has a par 6,although i've played some courses with long enough par 5's that i couldn't reach in 3 let alone 2 good shots.:)

Beardhairs of Aldegia features two par 7s. Soldiers lining the fairways aim their AK47s at the golfers to add more intimidation to the long holes.

Actually, Lewis River golf course in Washington has a par 6.

That's funny Tom,I knew about Beardhairs par 7's because i helped design that course, however the most intimidating hole on the course is the par2,7th hole, where you have to strap yourself up to a bungee cord and launch yourself from a 5000ft elevation down to a postage stamp green surrounded by a moat filled with man eating creatures. You must strategically place your ball on the egg shaped green, hoping that it does not roll off the green and into the water. Needless to say, pars are rare, and finishing the course is rare also.
I heard of a par 6 on a course before but i didn't know if their was ever one on a PGA event.

Not sure how an AK47 might help on a par 7 but could be useful if a zombie apocalypse breaks out while golfing.

Funny description, and quite an enjoyable solve. :-)

It's been jury rigged to accommodate golf balls instead of bullets and with the right aim and trajectory, the green can be reached in 3. Of course a zombie apocalypse is not uncommon at Beardhairs as well.:)

Thx Teresa.:)

Very funny!

I saved this one unfinished and forgot about it. May I suggest a mortar? If you're really, really accurate, you can drop the ball right in the cup!

We decided it looks more like a set of bagpipes than golf clubs. They are reputably more deadly than AK47s.

LMAO Don!

I have played in a tournament before where the Sheriff's department was at one of the holes with a modified shotgun that you could donate $10 to charity and use it to "tee off". Had a blast!
