Puzzle Description:

I doubt many of you will know these guys "Beany and Cecil" it was an animated cartoon series that ran from 1962 to 1967. Beany, a young, cherub-faced boy with a propeller beanie that allows him to fly ( the "Beanycopter", complete with helmet and propeller, became a popularly marketed novelty). Beany is a good-hearted, upbeat lad, and is somewhat obnoxious at the same time. Cecil, a large green sea serpent with a slight lisp, is fiercely loyal to Beany but not too terribly bright. Cecil's trusting good nature invariably winds up with him being taken advantage of by the bad people, and he often ends up absorbing a great amount of physical abuse (getting smashed flat, losing his head, having his skin burned off, being shattered to pieces)

Isn't it interesting that no one comments on a lot of your cartoon puzzles? I really don't know why, since they are are very well done.

thank you Adam

I love the puzzles from both of you, and specifically look for new puzzles from you, along with a couple other authors.

Also, I do actually remember this show, though it must have been re-runs on USA or Nickelodeon, since I wasn't born until '79. My memories are vague, however.

I did not know that it was responsible for the 'beanie' propeller caps so popular for some time after.

Thank you, Cynthia.

I certainly remember Beany and Cecil, and am clearly dating myself when I say the episodes I watched were definitely *not* re-runs. =8^0

Very nice image.

Wonderful puzzle! Challenging but not impossible, and the very cute image is worth the work.

I absolutely loved this cartoon when I was little. I'll have to watch some episodes again, because I don't remember that it was as violent as Nancy describes.
