Puzzle Description:
Escher-like lizards
#1: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Mar 9, 2012 [SPOILER]
See puzzle #5575, which is a VERY similar puzzle, with a VERY similar puzzle description.#2: Minnie Fuerstnau (m.fuerstnau) on Mar 10, 2012 [SPOILER]
Also see puzzles # 2789, 5077, 5575, 11175, 11554, 11669, 12175, 12525, 17427, 17840 and probably a few others.
I didn't include the Escher-type optical illusions.
The nicest thing about these lizards is that they remind me of a Native American design from the Southwest... makes me homesick for New Mexico!#3: Ery (erythrina) on Mar 10, 2012 [SPOILER]
Very well done, and I would love to see another puzzle from you soon!
Adam, 2789 is the only one of those that I've done so far, working my way through numerically. It was a comment there that made me think of Escher. I'd been having trouble thinking of anything to make a puzzle about that wasn't too hard for me. I'm more mathematical than artistic, but I like puzzles to look good and to be pictures, not just geometric designs. I'm in awe of people who can create beautiful, artistic pictures. In looking at Escher pics, this was the only thing that seemed easy enough for me to make a puzzle of. 5575 was probably made from the same image I based this off of.#4: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 31, 2012
I intended this to be just black and white, but I needed the green to make it solvable, also that extra black boarder at the top. I had hoped it would be a bit harder but still solvable.
Really good puzzle, Ery. It sure did remind me of the one I did (Adam's first reference). But I like how you designed yours, and the way you made it solvable. Nicely done.
Since you know what makes a good puzzle, I hope you create some more for us. :-)
