'They' still use names of sweets & confections for internal use, but in 2019 'they' stopped using that strategy for the official names and switched to numbers (starting with "Android 10"). They are still going alphabetically, but some of the minor updates got names of their own. Like 2.0 (and 2.1) was Eclair, 2.2 was Froyo and 2.3 was Gingerbread. They wouldn't want to make TOO much sense :D
