Do 'they' still name major Android releases after sweets & confections? I think my last Android phone was in the Oreo era.

'They' still use names of sweets & confections for internal use, but in 2019 'they' stopped using that strategy for the official names and switched to numbers (starting with "Android 10"). About a week ago they released "Android 14" (internally called "Upside Down Cake"). I always thought that those names were fun!

They must not be going alphabetically anymore, if Android 14 = 'U'pside Down Cake.

They are still going alphabetically, but some of the minor updates got names of their own. Like 2.0 (and 2.1) was Eclair, 2.2 was Froyo and 2.3 was Gingerbread. They wouldn't want to make TOO much sense :D
