All the red bits have a unique solution, but I think there might be more than one way to fill in the black bits.

I thought so too. I spent a little time trying to find alternate solutions to the black bits, but never quite succeeded. I wasn't able to get them by pure logic either though.

This one belongs to the "logical guessing" category, maybe.
There are more puzzles like that, where I ask myself if it was logic or guess or a mixture of both that helped my solve them.

We rule: Unique solution, but requires some guessing to find.

Not actually sure how the multiple solutions flag got set on this one. It was probably left over from the bug that incorrectly marked puzzles that way for a while.

I kind of liked it, but I admit, I gave up trying to JUST logic it and took my "guesses" once it became plain what the puzzle would turn out to be.

I come late to this, but must insist that there is a logical way to come to the solution. You must think about some "what if"s, but there is no real guessing.

I've actually been looking for puzzles with unique solutions but "some guessing" occasionally. Looking for the logic to continue, and then finding some brings back the feeling of when I started these, going "Oh, yeah!" when a new concept clicks into place.

Maybe you could have another level of logical. Instead of a question mark, have an exclamation point with the legend of "out-of-the-box logic needed."

Try many of my puzzles, Joe. Let me know what you think. Several are marked as possibly requiring guessing. Plus, you will have a rewarding image at the end, too.
