Wow,what an image Josh,very recognizable. I can't believe this is only rated a 2.5 for quality.C-mon people this is well done,a 4 at least,so i'll give it a 5.:)

Excellent!
#3: Nancy Kay (joyfulnancy) on Oct 27, 2011
Didn't see it 'til the very end, so great!
#4: Teresa K (fasstar) on Oct 28, 2011
I finished it, then stepped back and blinked and the image popped out. Fantastic!
#5: Alison Deem (Indigo) on Oct 29, 2011 [HINT]
He's flippin' awesome....and your rendition of him is also WONDERful!

Like Teresa (fasstar), I couldn't figure out what it was until I leaned back, having given up. Then, out of corner of my eye, I caught sight of it again, and looked back... and there it was! I gave it a five, as well. I think too many people are grading the image's quality without taking that moment to lean back and stop concentrating, so that it can reveal itself.

How do I say this without sounding mean? I'm all for having existing images to go by, but if you are going to use photoshop to drop the resolution and transfer it pixel-by-pixel, try taking that and cleaning up the image, help it out a little. Use your common and artist sense which is a feature that photoshop doesn't have.

Wow!

Thanks for comments -- and David, believe me, if you'd tried doing what you said, you'd realize that it never works without helping it out more than a little!

nice puzzle Josh

actually, out of curiosity i took your reference image and cropped it to what you show, hit scale to 36x36 and boosted the contrast to 100 and it was eerily similar...it slightly flattened his head/hair and messed up the outer cheek, the upper near-side of the lip and the ear in the exact same places as your's. actually the only real difference was that the largest of the reflections in the sunglasses is missing. i was attempting constructive criticism, but i think it has come off wrong. it is a nice puzzle, i was just thinking to myself that someone with your sense of composition and technical ability could probably touch it up a little and it would be next level. it's good though.

took me a while to see it after I was done, but once my eyes adjusted, I must say, excellent!
#13: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Sep 20, 2022 [SPOILER]
I saw a COMPLETELY different image - a huge furry creature (feet and legs bottom right, 2 beady eyes, his right arm is holding a tapered weapon aloft, blotchy panda-patterned spot on his barrel chest).

Then I saw Stevie.

I'm not sure which one I like better!
#14: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 21, 2022
I like your stick monster, Bill. ^_^ (as in, holding a stick)
#15: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Sep 21, 2022
Thanks Kristen. And I hate to admit that only just now did I tie in the title!

I saw (see) what Bill describes in comment #13. I don't think I know Stevie...so I'll do a little research.

*slapping myself* Of course I know Stevie...and I missed the play on words. I was being too literal. Once I knew for whom I was looking he totally popped! Verrrrry NICE!
