#5: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 10, 2011
Thank you very much Susan, and Happy Thanksgiving.Oh and what happened to your Senators hockey team saturday night against those crappy Maple Leafs? Don't feel bad my Montréal Canadians lost to them earlier in the week.:)
#6: Lollipop (lollipop) on Oct 10, 2011
Aldège, I go back to the days of 6 teams. Rocket Richard was just before my time, but I watched the Pocket Rocket, Jean Beliveau, Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Jacques Plante, and all the rest. I knew every player on all the teams. Danny Gallivan was the best hockey announcer ever. Then the league expanded, and expanded, and expanded. I threw up my hands and gave up forever when the Anaheim Mighty Ducks came into the NHL. A California team named for a Disney movie, for goodness sake. But right after Mama and Dada my granddaughter's father taught her to say "Go Habs Go"....

Lollypop it sounds like your around the same age as me(i'm 59).I grew up with all those greats you mentioned, others were,Glenn Hall(my all time favourite goalie),Elmer(moose)Vasco,Stan Makita,Pit Martin(Hamilton boy,my hometown),and on,and on. We grew up Go,Habs,Go,and boo those rotten Maple Leafs. I know your more from the Ottawa area, like Susan Duncan, but are you and also you Susan familiar with the greatest song writer ever who hails from Montréal,Leonard Cohen. His music is world renowned.
#8: Lollipop (lollipop) on Oct 10, 2011
I hail from the days of folk singing and flower power, so I sure do know and love Leonard Cohen's music. He's quite the poet too. All my children were born in Montréal, so you can see I lived there long enough to be immersed in the culture. Although we moved to Ottawa when the youngest was a newborn, when he went to McGill to get his Ph.D. he was considered a native Quebecer because he had been born there so his tuition was less than $4,000 per year.

So cool Lollipop, your son going for his Ph,D that is. You must be extremely proud. Niki and i have been listening to Leonard all day while cooking our Thanksgiving dinner. It has made it a very enjoyable day. It's so great to hear from some of my Canadian friends. Isn't it wonderful how we can have friends from around the world, because of PBN? I wonder how our friend Ik is doing thru her pregnancy. We haven't heard from her in awhile. If your looking Ik it would be nice to hear from you, hope all is well.

#12: Jota (jota) on Oct 12, 2011

#13: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 12, 2011
Thx Jota, please tell Miguel for me,that his being a Leonard Cohen fan shows a lot of class, and being married to you too of course.:)

Thx Teresa.

Vous ètte bien venu Jota.

You actually got to meet him Cynthia?,OMG i envy you.Was he wearing his traditional chapeaux. He is ruggedly handsome, with a deep buttery smooth voice that captivates you, besides being the most brilliant poet/songwriter on this planet. He claims he can't sing or stay in key,yet his voice and singing style(which is close to talking) will draw you in,and you will want to hear more and more of him.I've heard lot's of other artist play his songs, but no one does it like him. He and Gordon Lightfoot make me proud to say I'm a Canadian. As for the architecture, thx again Cynthia,i've done houses like you said, and yes it's a lot more interesting when you add some design to them, and yes the tree is meant to be a weeping cut leaf maple like the one i planted in my front yard. It's a beautiful tree.

What do mean 'my Senators'? I am true blue all the way. I am 55 so grew up with all the players that have been mentioned here but as a teenaged girl I have to say the Bobby Orr was the bomb. We were all Boston Bruin fans for a long time! I never got to meet Leonard Cohen but I did meet Gordon Lightfoot. How about The Tragically Hip and Bryan Adams both from Kingston where I grew up.
#19: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 16, 2011
Do you mean "The Leafs" oh heaven forbid, and they beat up on my Habs last week.Your still a baby at 55,(i just turned 59),lol. Bobby Orr was the greatest of them all in my opinion, even though i'm a huge Guy Lafleur fan,but to me Orr was better than Howe,Hull,Gretzky,Beliveau, and on,and on. As for the Hip and Adams, fantastic Canadian artist, and let's not forget,The Northern Pikes,Triumph,54-40,The Box,and Men Without Hats, all great Canadian bands. There are so many more i can't think of right now,but as Canadians we have a lot to be proud of.Of course our U.S. neighbours do too.:) Go,Habs,Go.:)
#20: larrry grizzard (gizzard) on Oct 18, 2011
Don't forget Alex Trebek.
#21: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 18, 2011
I did forget about him,a lot of great actors have come from Canada as well, Jim Carrie,Micheal J.Fox,and one of my favourites was the late John Candy.
#22: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Oct 18, 2011
Ever seen the movie Canadian Bacon? All the principal actors are Canadian (Alan Alda plays the President), and the premise is that, since 99% of the population lives within 100 miles of the US border, the Canadians must be gathering for an invasion. Goofy, but very funny.
#23: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 19, 2011
I remember that movie Kristen,it was a little goofy, but hilarious.:)
#24: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Nov 12, 2011
