I don't think I want to read that book. An author who depends on using a thesaurus to find descriptors that no one is familiar with is just trying to be impressive. On the other hand, the authors who can take common vocabulary words and weave them together into something new, they are the ones worth reading.
It's kind of like putting together pixels of a few common colors and coming up with a beautiful scene like this one. That's what impresses me. :-)

"sanguine" "sanguineo" in spanish from blood.
"carmine" "carmin" in spanish, a shade of red.
"carnelian" is just a well known reddish semi-precious stone.
No mystery here for me.
