Puzzle Description:

This is my IRA fund slip sliding away from me. I'm trying to catch it and hang on to it. I'm almost 65, half blind, burned out, and wanting to retire so badly. But I can't. So I wait and watch the stock market erode, taking my IRA away with it. That's my worry. My hope is that the economy will recover enough for me to survive when I retire.

This is a really depressing theme. Judges, please, please choose something fun or inspiring or uplifting next time. Most people come here to relax and escape the harsh realities of life. We want to have fun, not be reminded of how awful life is and how scary the future might be. Sorry, I just had to say that. I love you guys. Let's have more fun!

Thanks for your entry! Down, depressed, worried, that's exactly how I felt when trying to think of a theme for the WCP. I agree we should having fun, but at the same time we are in deep trouble, the USA, Europe ... We have to do something, facing reality is one of the first steps. Then we need to work harder, destroy those credit cards so we don't buy want we can't afford, work, work and work some more.

I had to cash in a bunch of rrsp's last year.Bad news is i have to pay tax on that income, good news is i'm not worrying about my mutual funds losing money anymore and i got to use my money on my family.I think i'll keep making funny puzzles.

All of these entries are building up depression. ;( Good puzzle though. At first I thought the dollar sign was a fountain. It was satisfying to watch it transform into the $.

sigh.... it's the pits, yeah? I worry about me... I definately worry about my kids. it's not a happy time, and I'm not sure a happy time will arrive anytime soon.

looking back on history, all things that go around come around, over all... over all. the sad thing is that the extremely rich will only become richer from our loss.

eh.... ignore all this moaning on my part... the more of us that think positive, the more positive things will be.

all that said... nice puzzle, Teresa! good luck!

about my comment #4, I regret to say that we are back... back to recession, inflation, depression and worries about the future.

Ouch. Thanks for making a puzzle out of a problem--cheaper than therapy for maker and solver alike!
