i have them also, Aldege... they give off tiny flowers twice every summer

I love the little flowers, some of my hosta's have white flowers, and some have a purplish blue flower.Mine are huge and they put on a beautiful show.I've always loved this plant.

I thought this was extremely tough to solve, nearly gave up. I know next to nothing about plants, I usually manage to kill them.

I don't know much about them either but i give them water every other day and some Miracle Grow plant food once a month and they seem to do o.k. Weeding is the worst and hardest part.

Aldege, in the spring you can use a shovel and cut each plant when it starts (the little green pointy things) cutting them up in half and re-plant the new half...and it'll grow up that very year and give off flowers.

i've done that many times Tom,i started with 2 plants and now i have 10.

Wonderful puzzle. It was a bit challenging to solve, in a good way, and was very satisfying to see the nice image when I was done. I enjoy this level of challenge on a small puzzle.

rofl Tom,thank you Teresa.

We have a lot of them. They deal with the hot summers well as long as they are in the shade.
#13: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Aug 7, 2011
You can split them in spring or fall.

Thx Avgvstvs.

I don't have any hints as how to solve this one. I have only seen the purplish flowers in the ones around my house, but I don't have any of those.

Most challenging puzzle I've done yet (completed a little over 300). I had to leave and come back to it 4 times over 3 days before I could solve it; the 4th time was the charm - it clicked into place within minutes, although I had completed around 75% by then! Excellent work by Aldege - I've enjoyed all Aldege's puzzles to date.

fun solve, Al!

After a bunch of color logic, I noticed the green 2s in c10/c11 and r15/r19 had to fit in one or the other. That put a dot in c10r20, and a lot of things unfolded from there. Very tough puzzle and a nice image!

These have been one of my favorite landscaping flowers for a long time. There are so many different ones, it is amazing.
