Try making an actual picture of something next time...

I really enjoyed solving it!

The thing about making recognizable pictures is that there are so many non-pictures possible. With five colors, there are 25 possible variations with just 2 squares. That is, the number of colors to the power of the number of squares. With just nine squares, there are almost 2 MILLION possible patterns (1,953,125 to be exact), or 5 to the power of 9. When you have a 20 x 20 grid, the possibilities rise to 5 to the power of 400! This is an astronomically high number. Therefore, a non-image in even a relatively small (20 x 20) grid is kind of pointless in that there are so many possible non-images. There is no reward for solving the non-image, other than as an exercise in logic.

not as hard as I thought it was going to be.

Didn't even waste time on this after reading the comments that it's not an image. I saw a Web site once that created puzzles exactly like these. I told the site operator there is no point to having a Web site with over 2 million random patterns providing examples of puzzles that provide nice pictures. I basically got a snotty attitude in reply.

I have no idea whether that site still operates.

Pointless. I wonder why it showed up in my daily "Featured Puzzles". I thought the featured puzzles would be of better quality.

I did a variation on this sort of puzzle. I called it, "Is It Random?" If you persist, you actually get a picture at the end. :)
