and that partridge in the pear tree

if a bird lands in the pear tree, it's probably safe from attact. I don't think partridges are carnivorous. if a cat lands in the pear tree, I hope it had it's parachute on.

There's a children's book called the Day They Parachuted Cats On Borneo. In brief, DDT infected the insects who ate the crops, which killed the lizards who ate the insects, and rats had overtaken the island, so they parachuted in cats to eat the rats.
