OMG. What did I get into by starting to read all these comments??? :-)
#27: Jane Doe (telly) on Jun 8, 2008
It's amazing that all this came from this puzzle. By the way, lately I've been reading about Queen Elizabeth of England. She lived in the days of witch burning and yet she was intelligent. Lucky her, she was born royal.
#28: Bionerd (nieboo) on Jun 9, 2008
I am reading fictional stuff about the Tudors. The Other Boleyn Girl, The Constant Princess, and the one about Queen Elizabeth.
#29: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jun 9, 2008
There's a really cool one about Mary, Queen of Scots' twin daughters called _The Recess_. Cool if you like 18th century gothic literature. I do.
#30: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Jun 9, 2008
after waching the Tudors I really think that Prince Charles is boring to dead just compare him to his own ancestor Henri VII that was ehat royalty was all about.

Fun, plaisure, war , sex , political assassination etc

the good old day

Welcome to the Webpbn Zone Adam. :o

Jane, Bionerd, Arduinna, have you ever read any books by Sharon Kay Penman? I think you all would enjoy them. :)

Arduinna, who wrote "The Recess"? I imagine that you've long since read "The Scottish Chiefs"?

Sylvain, Baby, you would have made a GREAT Henry the VIII! Except for the wife killing parts.
#32: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jun 12, 2008
Sophia Lee. and I have not read the Scottish Chiefs! I found it online, though. What's it about?
#33: Gypso (Gypso) on Jun 12, 2008
Arduinna, this is paraphrased from the cover. Published in 1809 (England) it tells the story of William Wallace leading the rebellion of the Scots (1296-1305) against King Edward in an attempt to return Robert the Bruce to the throne of Scotland.
It was written by Jane Porter and if you're lucky, try to get a copy illustrated by N.C. Wyeth. It's a beautifully written historical fiction fairly accurate to the original "adventure". Adventure might be a poor choice of words...
I highly recommend it. As a matter of fact I may pick it back up for a summer re-read.
Thanks for your recommendation. I have a Barnes and Noble gift card destined for one of her books now. :D

I'll have to check Sharon Penman out, Gypso. I love hearing about new authors. :)
#35: Gypso (Gypso) on Jun 30, 2008
I think you might really love her writing. :-)

I'm surprised I have not seen more droodle puzzles on this site. Maybe I'll make some, cuz I'm a crappy artist and droodles are simple.
#41: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Oct 27, 2020
And I just read (on the Roger Price web site) Frank Zappa actually titled an album after this droodle ("Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch" came out in 1992 and featured this Droodle on the cover.)
