I need a hint, can't solve w/o guessing.
#10: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Jun 4, 2011 [HINT]
Edge logic on the 9 in r15.
If it were to go as far left as it can, the 1 would be in c1 and the 9 in c3-11.

Then the 4 in c3 would make r16c3 black, and the 1 in c4 would make r16c4 white. This forces the 3 in r16 all the way to c1, which conflicts with the 1 in r15 vs the 1 in c1.

So, the 9 can't be in c3, and must extend into c12.

The same happens (mirrored) on the other side keeping the 9 out of c17 and forcing it into c8.

Then line logic to finish.

How about this one? Look at the 15 in row 13 and look how row 16 is affected. If the 15 clue is extended to column 1, then R16C3 would have to be black and R16C2 and R16C4 would be dots. This makes row 16 invalid. So R13C1 must be a dot. The rest solves with line logic.

Found to be logically solvable by gator.

Thanks for your entry Lilly! Thanks for the hint Joe.

Well, they've certainly, umm, changed things since 2011.

I enjoyed Joe's and Gator's contrasting edge-logic solutions (I came up with Joe's after each way logic on R1 C7/14, which turned out not to be necessary.)
