Is anyone familiar with a band called the Pogues,if not or even if you are you should check them out on you tube and look for a song called Fiesta. It has the most incredible Rock accordion i've ever heard, listen good to the accordion it's amazing. The cd titled Essential Pogues is fabulous and has a lot of Rock accordion in it.

I think I had heard of them previously, but recently I Googled to find out about the song used in the Subaru ad with the pee wee hockey players and learned the music was by the Pogues. A real foot-tappin' tune.

Joel, their older stuff is more likely what you might want to listen to. I haven't heard much of the newer stuff. I'm not a big accordion type of guy,but when i hear the accordion on the song Fiesta it just makes you want to dance. The guy playing it is really rockin.

Thx Annalivia,a Pogues fan, your cool.Don't you just love that accordion in Fiesta. You mean Gaelic for "Kiss my ass". Originally they were known as Pogues Mahone. I love this band. The lead singer is one ugly so and so but i love that weird voice of his.

Kristen you know a lot of different bands are you familiar with the Pogues?
#9: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on May 26, 2011
A bit. I used to have a Pogue Mahone bumper sticker, but it had nothing to do with the band ;)

Cool.

I did a quick YouTube search, to see if I remembered any of their songs (I must have had friends in school sho talked about them), and their song "If I Should Fall From Grace With God" is being used in a car commercial right now. It's for a minivan, and shows a mom driving her boys on the soccer team.

Aha, I recognize "Curse You, Oliver Cromwell," but I actually know a ton of their songs because they do a lot of traditional Irish tunes.

How about Fairytale of New York. What a fabulous song. They are a mixture of punk and Irish folk music. Do you love them Kristen?

Sure, it's traditional Irish songs, with a punk edge to them. What's not to love? :)
#15: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on May 31, 2011
I love your taste in music Kristen.

I used to want to play the accordion. I had a little toy one when I was very young and my neighbor (who was older) had a real one. I love music even if I can't play or sing. :) Great image.

I had an uncle (now deceased) that was a ventriloquist, co-creator of "Mr. Bill" (Oh no Mr.Bill!!), mechanic, cherry pipe smoker, and accordion player.. He introduced me to music when I was barely old enough to walk and talk. I always loved the accordion because of him. When he died, I asked if I could have his accordion but because I was only 7 years old, his family didn't feel I would be mature enough for it. I wish I knew whatever happened to it. I also wish I could have had his puppet. Anyway, enough about me... great puzzle ;)

I love little side stories like this. :-)
#19: Edith Clark (eclark) on Oct 29, 2011
I do, too. Thanks for sharing, Alicia. I think you should pursue what happened to the accordion and the puppet.

I was wondering if this was moderate lookahead, but there's some slightly elusive color logic in C7-C14 R1-6 with the greens that works out. Not sure if it's brain-fog or something actually new. Either way, though, it was fun.
