These are my kind of puzzles. Short and sweet. Helps me get to #1 ranked puzzle solver that much quicker!
#8: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Aug 25, 2008
I don't think you'll ever make it to #1 solver..DOGMOM has solved more puzzles than are on this site
#9: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 25, 2008
How is that possible?
#10: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Aug 25, 2008
I think she has solved ones that are now deleted
#11: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 25, 2008
Gotcha. Oh well.
#12: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 25, 2008
Plus you have to ACTUALLY solve the puzzles to become #1...you little cheat. :)
#13: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Aug 25, 2008
lol
#14: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 25, 2008
Call me what you will... I doubt DOGMOM actually solved EVERY single puzzle she has claimed.
#15: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Aug 25, 2008
don't know about that but she's been here longer than me & I've been here since 2005
#16: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 25, 2008
Hehe, just teasing monkey. Who knows what dogmom does.
My dad and I had a competition going on to see who would do the most puzzles so I can't mark ones I don't do as solved. But since he hasn't been on the site in months, I am so winning.
#17: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Aug 25, 2008
the option to mark as done is a recent add on so DOGMON was doing it strait from the start

and since their no price for being #1 I don't see a reason to cheat
#18: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 25, 2008
But who says she has continued to do so? Maybe she has, maybe she hasn't. I was just throwing out some thoughts.

Go Nieboo!

I am not cheating. I just don't care for the huge or extremely difficult/guessing required small ones.
#19: Jan Wolter (jan) on Aug 25, 2008
Actually one of my lesser reasons for making it possible to just mark puzzles as solved was to discourage people from getting super competitive about puzzle solving. If people were really competing to see how many puzzles they can solve, then the way people interact with the site would change in a lot of ways. People would do more guessing than logical reasoning to solve puzzles because it's faster. We'd probably have lots of discussions about what constitutes cheating, and people would want me to change to site to prevent whatever they thought was cheating, which would probably be impossible. Some people would like it better that way, because some people love competing, but I don't really want to go that way.

Set goals and rules for yourself if you want to, try solving more puzzles than dogmom if you like, but it don't expect it to mean anything to anyone else, because everyone else is playing by their own rules, which in many cases (such as dogmom) we don't even know.
#20: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 25, 2008
Eh, my dad and I always compete fairly. So no need to worry about involving others or rules that expand to bother others. At least I compete fairly, but since I'm winning I have no reason to think he's cheating.

#21: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 25, 2008
Yes, it is for my own fulfillment. I don't expect anyone else to care. I am happy if DOGMOM actually solved every single puzzle on this site. Wow if she did. Thanks, Jan, for allowing people to "mark as solved."

I am happy that some people like to solve every puzzle. That is completely their choice, and if they like to spend hours on end solving 1 puzzle, then so be it. I would rather spend hours on end solving MANY puzzles, and looking at solutions of the others.

Once I catch up and have "solved" every puzzle on this site, then maybe I will start to solve the larger ones, since there won't be many others for me to solve. I might continue to create a lot more puzzles, as well. Or some of both.

I just figured when I started on here several months ago, there were so many old puzzles (and several new ones daily as well) I figured I would never catch up. This is my way of "catching up."
#22: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 25, 2008
how will you know which ones you haven't solved yet?
#23: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 25, 2008
Of the ones I have marked already?
#24: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 25, 2008
yeah
#25: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 25, 2008
I won't know. I think I said that I would just start doing the new ones, didn't I? Maybe I forgot to say that.
#26: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 25, 2008
ooOoOoOh.

I think you should bite the bullet and start doing all of them. :)

Large and small, gotta do them all.

See, I rhymed for you.

#27: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 25, 2008
Thanks for the rhyme, and the suggestion. However, I feel I must continue my current method, until I have "solved" all of them. :-) Sorry if that is a disappointment.
#28: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 26, 2008
nah, i don't really care. :)
#29: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 26, 2008
I figured as much. Why would you, right?
#30: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 26, 2008
Yeah. I'm quite the selfish girl.
#31: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 26, 2008
Awww, I can't believe that! But thanks for asking, at least.
