Woohoo! I made it! It took me many, many hours, and I guessed a bit at the end - I can't say if it was necessary though. Great job on a very complex picture!#2: Jane Butcher (jane-o) on Sep 13, 2007
Congratulations! I assure you it took me many more hours to edit, retry, edit, retry.... I'm pretty sure no guessing is requried.#3: Jane Butcher (jane-o) on Sep 13, 2007 [HINT]

Fufff... Done! My brain (and eyes) need a vacation... Perhaps some 3x3 puzzle... No, 2x2... Thanks Jane! p.s. Yes, logic alone.#11: Gitte Olesen (granny40) on Nov 20, 2007
Oh boy.. Hard puzzle, but fun to solve.#12: Alysa Lundberg (aalundberg) on Dec 15, 2007
I guessed a little, but donnow if it was needed, so I won't rate about solveability.
Great puzzle. Thanks :o)
Phew! Finally done...this was a multi-day puzzle - very fun and a nice test of logic.#13: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Feb 1, 2008

I've never seen a definition of "look-ahead", but what Jane describes in #3 is what I consider "look-ahead" - not guessing. You pick a square that you think is probably blank, fill it in, then proceed to logically prove - either in your head if possible, or by marking the board if not - that filling it in was wrong and that it indeed must be blank. The trick is knowing which squares to try this with so that it actually proves useful.#19: Bill (PopPop) on Jun 10, 2018
