The stuff inside the center square has many, many solutions. It's easily enough guessed, since there is only one symmetrical solution, but I recommend making some alternations to the central part of the image.#2: J.C. Anderson (jc.noserdna) on Sep 7, 2007 [HINT]

I hope you have some of her completed work. Was she from the Anderson side?#6: J.C. Anderson (jc.noserdna) on Sep 9, 2007
Mom's. Her married name was Suchodupski, born Walzak. She always was kinda irked about that. Yes, I do have some of her stuff. Just amazing.#7: Gypso (Gypso) on Sep 9, 2007
Lovely! I'm so glad that you have some of the treasure!#8: Jan Wolter (jan) on Sep 11, 2007
Irked about gaining Suchodupski? Is that pronounced the way it looks? If so, I can understand. But still, what a great name! Is the name from Poland? I have a great, great grandmother named Warenski (which sounds a bit americanized doesn't it?). I don't know where she was from though.
This puzzle has been fixed an now has a unique solution. Very cool!#9: J.C. Anderson (jc.noserdna) on Sep 12, 2007
Gyps, stop me if I've responded to this before, thought I had, maybe forgot to hit send. She was born just outside Warsaw almost 100 years ago in what would be considered a suburb, but they didn't call them that back then. She had much simpler name, less ethnic. At that turn of the century, people did all they could to leave the old world behind, including abandoning much of their culture and native tongues. And yes, it is pronounced just the way it sounds. My two uncles changed their names to Sabre, cause they moved to (whereelse?) Calif and they thought the change would help them pick up chicks (the middle of the swinging 60's, mind you). Your GGG'mother probably started with a V originally, the rest sounds authentic, though a former boss's name was Evon, changed from Ivan, because in the old world (transylvania, actually) I-V-A-N was pronounced like we say E-V-O-N.#10: Gypso (Gypso) on Sep 12, 2007
This was the first post of your message above JC. I knew about name changes to sound less ethnic (dropping the ski etc.). But it never occurred to me that names were also changed to better describe the ethnic phonetics. Pretty cool!#11: J.C. Anderson (jc.noserdna) on Sep 12, 2007
Except feng shui. It is pronounced totally different than it is spelled and whoever anglified the phrase had the ability to absolutely spell it phonetically accurately! It is not if it were a word adopted from a language that uses the same glyphs as we do, and has silent letters, there was carte blanche to get this onw right and no one did. From now on my front door faces WNW.#12: Gypso (Gypso) on Sep 12, 2007
Oops, seem to have stumbled on a pet peeve.
Oops JC! Lost me. What is the pet peeve?#13: J.C. Anderson (jc.noserdna) on Sep 12, 2007
The way fung shway should have been spelled instead of feng shui, which looks to be pronounced feng shoo-ee.#14: Gypso (Gypso) on Sep 13, 2007
Now it's obvious! Thanks JC.#15: nancy king (naneki) on Sep 30, 2007
I liked this puzzle, & it also reminded me of a quilt pattern, but titles 'JUST SOMETHING' is exactly what it is!#16: Deana L (FFsWife) on Oct 26, 2007
Yeah, but feng shui has be better LOOK about it than fung shway does. And isn't that what life is all about? ;)#17: Gypso (Gypso) on Oct 14, 2007
Deana, you look marvelous darling! :)#18: Deana L (FFsWife) on Oct 26, 2007
