Good puzzle, and now my tummy's growling -- half an hour before I can take lunch! By the way, don't underestimate the cleaning power of p'butter on copperware ... oh, wait, that's ketchup (or do you use catsup down under?). Vegamite rocks!
#8: Marie-Louise Ambrey (marz) on Aug 15, 2007
We use tomato sauce down here, J.C, and vegemite should only ever be used as a cleanser. I have 5 people in my family here and only 1 likes the stuff, the rest of us like promite.
#9: Gypso (Gypso) on Aug 15, 2007
Please clarify. What is Vegamite? What is Promite? Food or cleansers?

lol Thanks Marz. I'm now on the hunt for these products in an attempt to broaden my palette. :)

Marz, I've got family visiting Cairn right now, I'm going to try and have them bring back a bit of each. And apparently I'm the one in the family who loves the stuff. Can't wait to try Stalagmite, tho' I've heard it can be kind of hard on the teeth.

My favorite brand of PB. Thanks.

Hi Marz. Sometimes it takes a couple of days to get back to comments, I tell myself I'm going to chat after one more puzzle, and well I'm sure you know how that goes. "ok, One more...well, a small one this time...one last one" until I've done half a dozen. Anyway, my name is John Charles, I go by JC, but I'm happy to answer to either.
As to the dropbears, i will look them up when I'm done here (after a puzzle or two), but I believe they are diving in the Great Barrier Reef about now, which for them should be 9:30 am Sept 21. I think it's 4 hours earlier tomorrow there from California time. See you!

Hi J.C, thankyou for replying, I will call you J.C, even though I love your full name, sounds very sophisticated. Your family are at the best place, lucky things. Did you know there is another puzzle creator on this site whose daughter is staying in Australia at the moment working as a diving instructor, the last I heard from him she was working on a yacht up in the north end of Australia. His name is Martial Accart (Marso) and he creates wonderful puzzles, his daughter is Zohar, she has created a few good puzzles also. It would be so amazing if your family came in contact with Zohar. Thanx again J.C, bye :)

Morning, Marz. I'll ask who their DIs were when they get back, and I'll look for the Accart's puzzles. YOu know the old saying, "Its a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it. Too many corners."
See ya, JC

Peanut Butter. My favourite. I never allow the cupboard to run out of PB. I always have a spare jar!
#21: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jul 25, 2017
Fun fact: if you mix equal parts Jif and powdered sugar, it approximates the peanut butter filling in Reese's cups.

Also, I'd always heard vegemite described as the leftover substance scraped from the bottom of a beer distillery vat. :)

Great puzzle. JIF is the only peanut butter my family will eat. So when there was a shortage, we were disappointed. My son works for a food distribution warehouse and he sent me a picture from his phone showing that there were only 8 jars of JIF in the entire warehouse. Thank heavens we are able to find it on store shelves again!
