Puzzle Description:

...and spend money. I think the Japanese Beckoning Cat or Maneki-neko is the original "Hello Kitty." Unlike westerners, the Japanese use a gesture palm out to beckon you nearer. Businesses put these at their entrance, because they and other owners believe they bring good fortune and wealth. I have used the $ for our little calico kitty. I hope he brings you luck!

Absolutely wonderful puzzle. Thank you, and I could use a little luck .

Great rendering of a happy image. Knew what this was very early on as it is one of my favorite symbols of Japan. You did a great job incorporating the "happy".

A little smile logic will finish this for you.

Great puzzle. Also wanted to point out the smile logic at the end is of the alternating kind.

I love it! The "smile" at the end was a nice way to finish solving this one. It took me a long time, and I kept coming back to it. Well worth the time. Nicely done, Eva.

Very nice, Eva.

40 years ago, I had a t-shirt with these type of cat images on it that my brother sent me from Hawaii. I never knew what they signified.

Pretty puzzle! And thanks for the info about the kitty! I see these in most chinese restaurants as well.
