Trivia tidbits:

The reason the reason they chose the call letters "WKRP" is that they were the only ones not being used by an actual station.

In the episode Les states that the helicopter is pulling a banner. Helicopters cannot pull banners behind them due to the tail rotor section of the helicopter. They actually use a tower system where the banner, normally square in shape, hangs directly below the helicopter, 150 feet below, with dead weight attached to the bottom of the banner to keep it from getting caught in an updraft.

The final first-run episode of WKRP to air on CBS was #7 in the weekly Neilson ratings for all series, specials and sports events. Prior to the airing, the series had already been canceled.

wonderful! great image and fun solve. one of my favorite sitcoms - loved all of the quirky personalities. one of my favorite episodes was when the staff found out the station would be bought by a new owner and their radio format was totally changing. the staff, of course, didn't want any changes so they all acted like jerks in order to drive the potential new owner away. bailey (the receptionist) pretended to be a burnt-out druggie. when the new owner came to meet everyone, bailey was sitting at her desk, acting high as a kite, and separating green m&m's while singing the nestles song: n-e-s-t-l-e-s. venus flytrap (the smooth black dj) pretended to be a radical black nationalist - he had decorated his office with black panther posters and fists and he had an enormous fro and daishiki on. i can't remember what les nessman or dr. johnny fever did, but the staff succeeded in freaking out the visitor and driving him away. i'm glad you picked this one to do, teresa.

9 years later, the video link didn't work for me, but the helicopter episode I recall was when Les wanted to drop free turkeys on the town for Thanksgiving. I believe the turkeys were frozen, and caused a great deal of damage dropped from that height. Loni was SUCH a fox!
