Oh my gosh. Robert, you just explained why I don't like fish. I never made that connection. But it's true.#8: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Oct 31, 2010
why is/was eating fish on Friday wrong?#9: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Nov 1, 2010 [SPOILER]
Sarah, Catholics were supposed to eat no meat on Friday, but fish was OK. So many Catholics developed a healthy dislike for fish (especially those whose mothers couldn't cook fish well).#10: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Nov 1, 2010 [SPOILER]
Thanks for the explaination, Joe. I was raised Episopalian so we could eat meat on Friday but my mom used to make us eat liver -- and for no religious reason -- and I can't stand liver. The Hassidic Jewish can't have meat and dairy at the same meal; they even have to have two sets of cooking pans, etc - one to cook dairy and one to cook meat.#11: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Nov 1, 2010

That's what is so great about this site. The accidental education one receives (besides the brain stimulation).#14: Andrew Schultz (blurglecruncheon) on Jun 15, 2021
Glad I stumbled on this rebus! It made me groan and smile at the same time. That's the best kind.
Glad I looked at the comments, too.
