Puzzle Description:

This one's on my back between my shoulders.. It represents the pain I endured as a child. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but you can't see it over a cold shoulder.." (a quote from a poem I wrote and submitted to a friend's website for the crusade against child abuse- this picture was used as the site's mascot for quite some time.)

WOW! Alicia you break my heart! No child should suffer, childhood should be about being happy, innocent and protected. I'm glad to know you've tried to put it "behind" you.

Alicia, your image here is even more beautiful than the photo. Great job on the puzzle.

I think it is important for victims of child abuse to speak up (when it is safe for them to do so). I commend you for sharing this with us and for commemorating you survival.

While I was solving this, I was thinking that the tear represents sadness, but the openness of the eye indicates other emotions as well, perhaps horror or vigilance or fear, all feelings a victim might experience. This image captures that so well.

Good use of the red.

Beautiful. Power to you, and this wonderful image and your story breaks my heart. As a high school coach, I not only try to teach the sport, but respect for all people, opponents as well as teammates. That respect must come from inside, true respect for oneself, something you clearly have and share with others. Power to you!
