I have just upgraded to Internet Explorer 8. Now, frequently, the puzzle I amin the middle of solving goes away, I get a message saying the tab has been renewed and all my work is gone. Is anyone else having that problem? It never happened before upgrading to IE 8.

I have the exact same problem. It doesn't happen in Firefox, but sometimes I like to do a puzzle or 2 on lunch break and have to use IE8, and it happens almost every time.
