Jota, you have such a gift for using simple images to create fascinating and fun-to-solve puzzles. That is really cute.

I googled ant and World War II and found lots of interesting items:

Ants took over American suburbia after WWII because of the increase in grass sod and ornamental plants.

Some guy in China named Ant has a cool photo collection of WWII toys.

NOVA tells us that ants rule the world with the most successful life form on the face of the planet.

Aha! I found the connection, finally, For those of you too lazy to Google it yourself, here's the explanation: After WWI fire ants became a national pest. We went to war against them The federal government tried to destroy them by using WWII bombers to dust millions of acres with ant poison. Well, that not only killed the ants, but also opossums, dogs, birds, fish, raccoons, and cattle. But that did not stop those determined critters. Read more here:
