Puzzle Description:

NSW, Australia.

Nice puzzle. I especially appreciated the kangaroo. A map of Austrialia without a kangaroo drawn in the margins really isn't right.

Usually I'm not too fond of lettering in puzzles, but in this case it added immensely to the interest of the puzzle. It would have been terribly easy without it. Good idea.

Nice puzzle. My first guess of what the puzzle was, before I had much of it done, was "Neat! She lives on a house boat!" Not a very good guesser, huh?

I used to live on a boat actually and we sailed around Tasmania, the little island at the bottom of the picture.
So your guess wasn't too far off the mark.

My daughter (Zohar) is now traveling in Australia for more than 3 months. She is now in a place called "Town of 1770", north of Brisbane and Fraser Island. She is having the time of her life.
Oh, when I had only a few lines drawn on the puzzle, I thought it was a submarine!

Martial, I have lived in Australia all my life and have never heard of "Town of 1770" How bad is that? So Im going to get on to Google and do some study on my own country. I hope your daughter has a great time.

I googled, and I'm jealous of Martial's daughter, all the more since I know she got a scuba certification before she left.

Yes Im jealous too, what a beatiful spot. It's winter here at the moment and there is a huge difference in temperature between up that way and where I live, so while Im in jumpers and slippers, she'll be in teeshirts and shorts.

What a lovely puzzle. My initial guesses were both a houseboat and then a submarine lol. Puzzling minds must think alike!
I'm off to google all these locations.
Great puzzle thank you :)

What a gorgeous place to live Marz! Your mountains and coast are spectacular :D.
What a fantastic trip for your daughter to take Marso. What made her think of visiting?
I live along the California coast in a little town called Pacifica. We're next to Montara Mountain to the south and park land and the GGNRA east and northeast. You can see the beach from the top of my street :). I love the mountains and coast. They're worth putting up with quakes for.
Thanks Marso for mentioning Town of 1770 and Jan for nudging me to google.
Your country looks beautiful Marz. Thanks for sharing it in a puzzle :)

I think the "R" would have benefitted by being four pixels wide, like the "A"s.
#11: Arduinna (arduinna) on Oct 26, 2007 [SPOILER]
I guessed what it was right away! I'm so smart!

Actually, I'd been reading message boards for several months and knew Marz was from down under when I did the puzzle.

Cute kangaroo and I like that the lettering is white on black.

Very nice images.

I solved it to the point of seeing "AU-" and thought, "Oh, she must live in Austin, Texas. The land mass is starting to look big like the state, after all." Then I switched to the other side and saw that the last letter was an A and knew it wasn't Texas. Evidently, the correct land mass depicted here is much, much bigger.
