Interesting idea... taking other people's puzzles and making them solvable. In art, a painting must be 20% different from another's or it violates copyright laws. Don't worry, I am not going to turn you in! :-)

I would say solvable is 100% different than unsolvable...

I find it so frustrating when a good puzzle is ruined by so simple a thing.

#3 - I totally agree.

Good idea, Joe.

I think so long as you reference the original puzzle it's fine.

I've thought about adding a feature that allows people to create new puzzles that are tagged in the database as "a version of" another person's puzzle. I so often see some puzzles that could be excellent with a small fiddle. But I never put that feature in partly because some users didn't like the idea, partly because I didn't want to encourage too much proliferation of extremely similar puzzles, and partly because, like so many other things, I never quite got around to it.

If you added that feature, it would be hard for me to resist "fixing" all of the multiple solution puzzles.

I didn't remember the original but I really like this now that it's solvable. Good job.

Wow!

Very nice! Very rewarding solve.

I'm not used to solving such an easy one from you; that is not to say I didn't like it. I found this in the featured puzzles and clicked it because I trusted a puzzle by you to be worth the solve.

My puzzles are generally hard, not because I aim to make them hard but because it is easier to make hard ones than easy ones. Plus I like solving hard ones, so a double plus.

"Hearing" a comment from Jan as I read....didn't know it would make me feel so good and then so...wishing he was still here....
