Puzzle Description:

I don't know what it really is either, but I thought it looked pretty.

Generally, I don't even notice that the "black" here is really a dark grey, but this picture really looks much nicer with a true black. http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=aVxSKjJ

As to the logic, there is a bit at the very end that is not obvious. While it can be found with some tedious looking ahead of many steps, there is a place where minimal look-ahead is needed.

Line and color logic leaves 4 rows and 4 columns unfinished.
Rows 14, 15 & 18 each need one more green 1, Row 16 needs two green 1s.
Columns 12 & 14 need one green 1 each. Column 11 needs one more square of a green 2. Column 18 needs a green 1 and one more square of a green 2.

Look at row 16. Two 1s can fit into a space of four in only three ways:
(A) X•X•
(B) •X•X
(C) X••X

(A) is impossible as it would make row 18 have no place for the last 1.
(B) is also impossible as it would make row 18 have TWO 1s.
Thus (C) is the correct position for the 1s in row 16.

I solved this by looking at row 18. The last green 1 clue can either go in column 11 or 13. In either case, R16C14 would have to be filled in. The rest solves normally.

Found to be logically solvable by Gator.

I solved it like Gator this time. :-)

Its amazing to me how often a computer-based graphic or puzzle creating program is used to create a puzzle on this site. I used to think everyone just did things free hand, the way I do. Apparently not.

Adam, do you use a reference picture for your puzzles? If so, then doing it freehand is little different than the way I do it. I use a graphics program for a undo/redo list and for layers (to try different options.)

If you draw out of your head, then congratulations!

I do use a reference picture for most of my "character" puzzles, but I don't have any thing like a grid or whatever telling me where to place pixels. More power to you, though, if it works for you. It's all good. I just didn't know many people did it. That's all I was saying.

OK, this took me forever to finish, but I did it!

Really enjoyed the solve! Thanks!
