tricky solve. In fact, I had to cheat. How on earth is this possible by logic only?#5: Gator (Gator) on Mar 30, 2010 [HINT]
cute but sad image
It is possible to solve with logic, but you have to work your way down a column and cross check with the rows the whole way, or vice versa. Very tough solve, but satisfying.#6: predrag djokic (pedja) on Oct 27, 2016
nahh ... just very tough#7: Laura Farnan (lfarnan) on Feb 3, 2018
Loved solving it!#8: BlackCat (BlackCat) on May 7, 2018
Unusual and good use of color. Very tough, tedious, and I guessed multiple times.#9: besmirched tea (Besmirched Tea) on Oct 14, 2019 [SPOILER]
I used symmetry to get the last top part.#10: Michael Eddy (meddy) on Oct 14, 2019
Saw the shades and the title and was expecting George Clinton
Solved logically without guessing but did have a particularly tough time in the top left. Nice puzzle.#11: Eric (kelalatir) on Apr 17, 2023 [HINT]
Great Puzzle!#12: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Sep 3, 2023
The puzzle got particularly difficult when I was 84% complete, with only the top left and a small portion of the top right remaining. At this point, I looked at column 10, specifically where the blue 2 might go. There are only 3 options, R4-5, R9-10, or R10-11. R4-5 can be eliminated using edge logic, because if placed there, the blue 2 causes a contradiction in column 9. Thus, R10C10 must be blue.
Next I used color logic on column 8, which requires R8C9 to be blue as part of the blue 2 in that column.
At This point line logic and the hint button got me to 99%. Color logic on the black 1 in row 4 let me complete the puzzle.
I'm in a funk now, cuz this one was hard!
Ok, now I'm all better, cuz I love every one of IP's puzzles!
