Puzzle Description:

My second puzzle. Enjoy. :) The train has passed. Your wait may be over, but you're still going to be late for work.

Yeah, the very top of the image is meant to be the guard rail that keeps you from getting onto the track when a train is there. Just below that are the rail ties. The car is in the bottom left (mostly window, tire, side mirror and part of the hood), and the railway crossing sign on the bottom right.

Thanks for your entry! Very entertaining!

I figured I was not looking at the caboose, and I can see the guard rail. But I thought the round thing was the steering wheel, as if looking out the window from inside the car. I'm still not entirely sure of the details of the image. But it was fun to solve.

Hmm. If it's that hard for others to see, I think maybe I overshot my ability. Hehe. It will probably take some time for me to come close to matching some of the great puzzles I've seen from you all.

That's a common experience, Douglas. Many times I have assumed the solver will see the image as clearly as I do. A lot depends on what the brain is trying to see. You did a good job though. I like the size and that it was B&W. Keep making them! :-)

The image detail is difficult to figure out. It was a fun puzzle though.

I'm a bit color-blind, so the colors may be off a bit, but hopefully this will show what the image is supposed to be: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v166/coldangel/puzzle7148.jpg

I'm open to advice on how I can improve. :) I'm sure Adam will be along shortly. Haha

Oh my. That image is the exact same image, just in color. Did you create the color puzzle at that link, or did you copy it? It is one thing to use an image and make it into a paint-by-number puzzle. It is entirely something else to copy someone else's paint-by-number puzzle and call it your own.

Jan has a plagiarism policy. On the puzzle creation page, he states "Please do not enter any puzzles taken from any copyrighted source, such as books, magazines, or other web sites. Enter only your own original designs."

My suggestion is that you create your own puzzle.
#11: Gator (Gator) on Nov 4, 2009 [SPOILER]
Teresa - it looks like he took a screenshot of his puzzle and colored it in MS Paint (or some other program). Notice how it looks like the WPBN grid?
#12: Teresa K (fasstar) on Nov 4, 2009
Of course, that is possible, Gator. The link is for Photobucket account of "coldangel" - that is what prompted the question of who designed the puzzle. If he designed it and colored it in and posted it to photobucket, then of course that is no problem. It seems the design was meant for those colors, and the image is easier to see on the color version. It would be nice to verify the source of the puzzle design, that's all.

This puzzle is my own original work. As Gator deduced, I simply loaded a screenshot of it into a graphical editing program and colored it in so that you could see what I had been going for (which is why I noted my color-blindness.) In fact, if you look closely at the image, you'll see that the black lines in the red-ish area at the top are tinted red as well, which they wouldn't be if it was a color puzzle. coldangel is just an old screen-name I used to use and I never bothered to make a new photobucket account. ;)

However, I do see how one could be confused. You have my word that I take plagiarism seriously, I've never engaged in it and I never will. I am quite fastidious about citing sources.

I apologize, Douglas. I'm happy to know it is your own work. The color version is really nice. But I do like the B&W puzzles. And I do hope you do more like this. :-)

What, where no one can tell what it is? Lmao. :D

I've never even solved a puzzle of more than two colors. It was a bit difficult for me to tell the little colored numbers apart when I looked at one. Besides, the reason I'm even on this site is because of the PBN puzzles I've been doing in magazines for years.

LOL @ #9. Ok, you asked for it, so here I go... :-)

Just kidding. It was a great solve. Tricky on the bottom right. I completely ditto #5. The B/W image was unclear to me, but I figured out what was what after seeing the color version.
#17: Jane Doe (telly) on Nov 4, 2009
nice puzzle. it's much easier to see in the color version...but I love b&w puzzles so I wouldn't want you to do it in color. :)
Keep up the fun puzzle making!

Difficult to know what it is without the title.
