Good image and a decent challenge.#3: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Oct 23, 2009 [HINT]
This was a pain in the butt to solve. :-(#4: Gator (Gator) on Oct 23, 2009 [HINT]
After getting a few squares of "black-red-black" in the middle of each row or column near the edges, I tried a little edge logic and got nowhere.
You can tell it is going to be circular, with all red outlined in black, but I couldn't figure out a way to solve it. I could assume symmetry on the border. Hints?
Using line/color logic, you should get 8 of the black 11 clue in column 7 filled in. This allows 8 dots in column 8. This will allow you to filled in R8C5 and R8C6. This same logic applies to the right side. It should go much faster from there.#5: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Oct 23, 2009
There we go. Thanks, Gator.#6: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Oct 23, 2009 [HINT]
I missed some color logic elsewhere (all of the long red clues) which got me a little farther. The one spot I missed that allowed me to solve it was color logic on the red 13s and why they can't extend up to R9. That let me place a few lower reds in those Cs, which let me finally place 8 of the 11 blacks in those other Cs. Thanks, Gator.#7: Byrdie (byrdie) on Oct 23, 2009 [HINT]
After initial line solving and edge logic, I resorted to color logic to solve the red. From there, the balance solved rather quickly. The middle was a bit putzy but it was fun on the whole.#8: Jota (jota) on Oct 23, 2009
Thanks for your entry! Very entertaining!#9: Julie Katz (katwomanjulie) on Oct 23, 2009
OMG- Adam, no nasty comments about how this was a complete failure? I'm disappoitned.#10: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Oct 25, 2009
Nope. This was actually better than others. But if you really are disappointed, I can say something bad about it for ya! :-)#11: Julie Katz (katwomanjulie) on Oct 26, 2009
Well thanks ;)#12: Teresa K (fasstar) on Oct 26, 2009 [SPOILER]

ditto #12 nice job.#15: Andrew Schultz (blurglecruncheon) on Jan 26, 2024 [HINT]
I had trouble getting things rolling but the 4's in C8/C23 extend to R6, and then it's smooth sailing. I feel a bit of solidarity I wasn't the only one who took a while to notice this. Then once I saw it I felt a bit silly missing it. I had an idea the right way was to find something on the edges to bound the red dots.
