Puzzle Description:

Latex glove. Due to ubiquitous use of latex gloves in health care settings, at one times allergy and contact dermatitis among health care workers was increasing dramatically. Every exposure to a potential allergen increases the chance of developing a sensitivity. Now non-allergenic purple nitrile gloves are often used instead, and occupational latex allergies are no longer increasing.

"# 14..." ???

Oh, Robyn's 14th entry. Gotcha. I didn't know what that meant, because I saw these comments before the ones in which you mentioned her #13.

Adam, I can relate too! I do get bouts of atopic dermatitis on my hands, so I bought latex gloves for doing the dishes. Then my allergist told me I'm allergic to latex. D'oh! There's one brand of disposable nitrile gloves at my usual grocery store. I can't stand the vinyl ones. Do you use nitrile gloves exclusively at work, or do you use both?

Well, we stock all kinds of gloves. I just hate the powdered kinds, no matter what material. I had 2 patients in a row who were latex-allergic, and so I started using the purple nitrile gloves, and they felt better. I started using them exclusively since.

I agree - fun solve. I started with edge logic on all three 9s - the wrong two first, of course.

All that's needed is edge logic on the 9 in c1. The rest is line logic.

I use nitrile gloves at work sometimes, not due to allergies, but due to the fact that nitrile plastic holds up to lacquer thinner longer than other types of plastic. (Our gloves were blue - like the ones on the secret gov't guys from Firefly.)

When I brought my son to the dentist, the hygienists wore blue gloves, so of course I murmured to him, "two by two, hands of blue."

Haha, kid torture!
