Puzzle Description:

Male Pattern Baldness. These are four of my six brothers, all bald like my Dad.

Hey, that's a pattern, right? I don't like most pattern puzzles, so I didn't create one with a visual pattern, just a visible one.

I like bald men. I like men with hair. It's not what's on the head, but inside it that matters

Very fun to solve. I had no idea what this was as I was solving. As I got farther on, I started to see faces. The whole thing actually looked like a 4-leafed clover early on. One of the faces reminded me (and still does) of George Washington (the one at the bottom)! Thanks for this. It was fun. :-)

Thanks, Adam. This was a tough one to make solvable. While I was solving it, I thought of Picasso, with eyes appearing off-kilter. LOL

I tried to think of patterns like that, kind of a play on the theme.

Teresa I think that it can be fit in this week WC just change the title to WC24...

Done! I figured most people would be tired of bright colors and blinding patterns by now. This one is a little easier on the eyes.

Interesting tidbit here. Several studies show a relation between Male Pattern Baldness and the "x" chromosome which comes from mom. So it may not be poor dads fault after all and guess what you may pass on to your son. :) hehe

That's very interesting, Hazel - thanks. My Dad is bald. His dad was bald. His brothers and uncles too. My Mom's dad had really thick hair. His mustache was like a brush! Male pattern baldness is also linked to excess androgen, a powerful sex hormone. No wonder these guys are smiling! Their wives (not pictured) smile a lot too. Woo hoo!

Before finishing the faces I thought it would be about facial hair and choosing how to style it. LOL

I hoped someone would take this week's theme a step further! Woohoo!

Very funny. Did you tell your dad and brothers that they are now famous? I first thought it was the girl scout logo. Thanks for the surprise.

Thanks for your entry! Agree with Adam 100%.
#14: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 19, 2009
Beth, they are all introverts and don't want to be famous. I didn't show them the puzzle, because they might be offended, as they are much better looking than the image. Here are my guys for real:

I enjoyed this very much! Lol...until the verrrrrrry end I was wrong about the solution. When I saw the "F" s I snap judged "4-H pattern" and couldn't see beyond that.

PS...I am one of those smiling wives. (added: not one of your brothers' wives...just one of those wives in general, married to someone with male-pattern baldness lol!)

You are right-they are better looking than your puzzle!

As I was working on the puzzle, my son-in-law passed through and asked if I was doing a picture of the Beatles! I guess he needed to see the finished product.

clever and excellent! i myself am experience female pattern baldness! my hair has thinned out considerably at the sides, giving my forehead an altogether different shape than ever. i only noticed it when i saw a picture of myself. i was shocked (and amused).

Very different image. Fun to solve.
