Until the very end, I thought it was a fawn, and referred to “The Yearling,” by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings! That’s a very old novel, considered Young Adult, I guess. Great puzzle, fun even though it was easy. I am going to get the book on audible. I loved the Poisonwood Bible. I do remember "The Yearling".
