I admit I had to look around online to remind myself of the character names. But yeah, this sure looks like him! Very tricky solve. But he didn't play the ... well, you know.

Once the hat started to take shape, I wondered whether it'd be ol' Barney Fife. :)

Fife is definitely Barney and the instrument, which I suppose is old, but where does "uncovers" come in the solution?
