The Mona Lisa

Nice! But, um, Picasso?

Well, when the Mona Lisa was stolen in 1911, the police questioned Picasso. He wasn't really a suspect though. He'd previously purchased some sculptures that had turned out to have been stolen from the Louvre. Picasso had returned them anonymously, hoping to avoid bad publicity, but the police traced them back to him. The friend who had sold Picasso the sculptures turned out to be unconnected to the theft of the Mona Lisa though.

Or maybe this Mona Lisa just looks a bit like Picasso might have had a hand in her.

Dan Brown maybe would say that the square root of Leonardo is more or less equal to Mona Lisa divided by Picasso.

On one of the Marilyn Monroe puzzles, there is a comment about how very few women are recognizable in pixel form, but many men are. I am impressed that you both found a recognizable woman, and reduced her to her absolute minimal form. It's fascinating how quickly you know who she is.

I agree with Rachel.

I heard that using x-rays, they found 3 other version underneath the current Mona Lisa.
#8: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jun 9, 2008 [SPOILER]
I heard that a power-hungry mad man went back in time and made DiVinci create several exact replicas, which somehow would make him rich and powerful in the future... no, wait, that was an episode of Dr. Who.

I wasn't quite halfway done when I was able to recognize that this puzzle was mistitled. Very nicely done!
