The description is a clue to the subject using cryptic crossword clue rules. This one doesn't tell you the length of the answer since the picture give you an additional clue.

Every cryptic clue is made up of two parts; a definition, and a literal description of the answer using wordplay. They can be in either order (though not intertwined) and there is no separation between them.

Top knot?...but that's not a picture of a top knot... it looks like a shag or a lioness from the 70's. I tried different things..."any" for "some"..."top," "ceo," "lead," for "head"... but couldn't get anything to jive..."O" for "band"....
