Puzzle Description:

Katsushika Hokusai's famous woodcut, "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa" from his collection of thirty six views of Mount Fuji (Mount Fuji is the white triangle in the background). I started with a fairly faithful image of the original, but couldn't make it solve until I eliminated the second boat and moved the first in front of the foreground wave. Oh well.

This is the 150th puzzle I've posted to this site.

Wow. I couldn't figure out what it was at all until the end. Very cool!

I think I saw this one on Antiques Roadshow once.

Very good job. I found this really hard because I mis-read the clue. Thinking it was a Russian shawl, I had a really, really hard time figuring out what it should look like. LOL!

Beautifully done. But then aren't all of Jan's?

Bravo. Although Jan will never receive this commendation, I want it to be said anyway, for anyone else to see. He has captured the essence of the ukiyoe style very well. The wave is distinctly similar to the original; the white perfectly dots the blue like the drawn rapids of the original. Maybe he wasn't able to make a perfectly pixelated copy of "Kanagawaoki nami ura", but the variations are more than acceptable. I love this beautiful puzzle and its color logic.
