After LL & careful CL leaves only a section of black and a separate section of red,

EL 3 c1 = r20 white
LL
EL 4 c14 = r14, r21-22 w
LL finishes the black

Deep EL 6 r9 (vs r7) = c34-35 w
DEL 8 r8 (vs r6) = c34-35 w
Internal EL 8 r8 = c17-19 w
LL finishes the red

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by infrapinklizzard.

fun solve! cool pic too :)

for the last bit of red, I did all using c35. Use el to dot r1. Iel dots r7-9. LL places the last 2 clue in r4. Having "1" clue in r3 means that at least one of the "3" clues in c's 34-35 must go downward, triggering the 4 clue in r5...LL solves out with nothing "deep" about it

Deep edge logic is not the same as deep lookahead. It just means using a line that is further away than the one right next to it.
E.g. for my first red hint, it means:
Using edge logic on the 6 in row nine, (versus row seven instead of row eight) ...

aha! ok

I think I usually call that "thick" or "fat" edge logic. I forget which descriptive I used.

Congratulations on the puzzles you have created and solved. This is an excellent puzzle. I had to do a little looking ahead although the bands of colour certainly helped in finding a starting point for some of the lines.

I think Jan was the one who came up with "deep" as the descriptive. However, with "deep lookahead" now, I think it might be too confusing. Maybe I'll change my description to "Distant Edge Logic" to differentiate it, but still keeping the old abbreviation.

Thanks, Derby!

It had me scratching for a long stretch of days. Very challenging and cool.

It took me several days to solve too. I was committed to not guessing and feel very satisfied for having stuck with the logic, which was challenging but fun.

That is so cool how the numbers line up that way.
