The classic blues song "Crossroads" is about Robert Johnson, who is said to have sold his soul to the devil in exchange for being the best guitarist ever. It is documented that he disappeared for a spell, and when he turned up he had mad skills, playing the "rhythm" licks with his thumb, and leads with his fingers simultaneously. So either the devil kept his end of the bargain, or RJ holed up and practiced, practiced, practiced.
