When I first posted in #1 I left the "d" off of bend and after Steve pointed that out I fixed it.

I figured it was a Bend in the river, and you were seeing its reflection in the water. Except the letters aren't reflected properly. :)

Yes, this is "bend over backwards". As cbpaul mentioned, it's flipped and then the letters are backwards.

I thought this one would be harder and I would have to go to extreme lengths to give hints.

These remind me of those "captcha" figures on web pages to prove you are not a robot.

If they were, there'd certainly be fewer commentors on the internet!

I was going to guess "bend down." Which was close, but nope.

It reminds me of my quip toothbrush, where I usually see the logo upside down and wonder why it says dinq.
