After line and color logic gets all but a little green at the top,

edge logic 3 r3 = it cannot be in c12-14 without causing a block of one in r2. Therefore it must be in c16-18.
LL

EL 2 r1 = c12 w
LL

Deep lookahead (barely)
if the 2 in c12 were in r5-6, it would force both c7 and c14 to have a green pixel in r3 where there can be only one. Therefore c12r5-6 must be white.
LL to finish

LL
- 3 in R3 can't go in C12-14 because violates R2 (EL)
- EL dots C12R1

so far it's the same, but how about this as the lookahead?

- C12-14R3 can't all be spaces or it violates R6. so C7R3 is a dot (or look at it as EL what happens if C7R3 is green)

great image and solve by the way!!

I see what you're saying, but it's about the same lookahead as mine. Which is (barely) deep lookahead on those days when I'm feeling conservative. It's not really the result of placing the 1, but the result of the spaces that resulted from placing the 1.

Another view is two-way logic on the 2 in r6. No matter whether it goes into c12 or c14, the white on the other side will force a green pixel in r3.

These are the puzzles that test the rating system. Right on the edge between two states with a fuzzy border. I guess I will change this to (barely) moderate lookahead.

Nice, chunky knot work. :)

I just read a book featuring a character named Vinculus, and I wondered if the two were related. They are knot.

Good puzzle. I would have liked it a little harder. I enjoyed solving it by colour - figuring out where the blacks could go at first. I don’t know if I solved it entirely by logic, but certainly not too much guessing. Thanks

Very intricate and very, very tough. No guessing; just great concentration and a lot of use of the hints.
