Totoro!

I looked up "Totoro," and found an anime.

It never even entered my mind that this was not "X the Owl" holding an umbrella, from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood! "Would you be mine, would you be mine? Please, won't you be my neighbor?" It all fit...and it was so perfect!

That duality hardly ever happens, but it sure set me back on my heels today. Sigh...Fred has been a hero of mine for decades and decades.

The title and description are both references to Mr Roger's Neighborhood, but the picture is Totoro from the Studio Ghibli movie "My Neighbor, Totoro".

I grew up with Mr Rogers and I really enjoy Ghibli movies.

Totoro! What an awesome idea for a puzzle! I'm not actually done solving yet, but I saw him suddenly in the middle of it and got excited. Very few people may recognize him right off the bat. It's an older Ghibli movie, one that came out before Miyazaki films really took off in America. (Even now, I wouldn't say they've 'taken off" but some titles are big enough that most have heard of them.)

Edit: I'm finished now. He does kind of look like an owl here, doesn't he?
