I'd never heard of a banquentine until this puzzle, and is #2 water? interesting new cryptos :)

Thanks besmirched. The third letter of the first answer is not in fact an "n". #2 is the letters H to O; H 2 O is indeed water.

Cryptic crosswords are 1/2 of my favourite two puzzle types. Having a PBN with a cryptic clue is like having a cupcake with a sprinkles *and* a cherry on it.

Joe and Robert, these have been great! Please, please keep making them.

I knew about "barques" so barquentine seemed to be right.
H to O is such a great clue, but not a strict cryptic (there is no definition part).

And the puzzle was fun, too!
