EL C50 completely places the 10. LL.

C48: the 2 clue here places a black in either R40 or 42 in C47. The rest of C47 is white. LL.

C11: EL eliminates R7-20 and R39-42. LL.

R42: EL with the 7 eliminates C23-31. LL.

C26: Finishing this column makes either R39 C26-30 black or R41 C26-29 black. C27-29 each only have a single 1 clue remaining. That means C27-29 can have all remaining squares filled with white except for R39&41. LL.

R41: If the 4 is placed within C26-30, it causes a contradiction in R39, so these squares are white. LL.

R42: We can do more EL with the 7 now and eliminate C33 and C43-48. LL.

Whew! That gets us there!

Love this puzzle. It wasn’t intuitive at all. Many times I thought “this can’t be right” but soldiered on expecting to find a bunch of red dots indicating errors. Only once did I get tripped up. I like the way that the image evolved out of unexpected forms. I hope your son liked at as much as I did.
