I recall him being dragged around for a few days but that's about it.
Haven't read it in decades.

This series would almost make a nice flip book :)

As I recall (it's been a couple of decades), he catches the marlin, drags behind for a day or so until it finally dies, lashes it to the side of his boat, and "shares" it with the sharks as he brings it back to port.

Depressing story. Interesting illustrations.

How about "Redefining Success and Victory", "Triumph and Rebirth", "Perseverance is a Universal Law", "Man and Beast Are More Similar Than We Think", "Some Things Are Meant to Remain a Mystery", "We Need Hope to Survive Defeat" and "Other People Will Not Understand Our Struggles"
