Puzzle Description:

Do you see the girl in both the positive half and the negative? And yet the pieces that make up the whole picture are not all connected. The human brain is designed to group pieces of information together, resulting in the perceived illusion of a complete image. This is one example of a gestalt-type illusion.

Sorry Kristen, I can't see wise guys there, but the girl and arab arequite easily seen, the bird is a bit of a sideways squint, I think.

Lol, the pixelations don't allow the gestalt illusion to come in clearly, do they? If you are having trouble seeing the girl, she has long hair - black on the left, white on the right - and a headband - white on the left, black on the right. Perhaps that description will pull her into focus.

And yet another wise guy has entered the fray. ;)

Tough to see, though I like the concept. This is one instance when I think the puzzle should have been a bit larger.

Interesting. It is sheer coincidence because I made her up. I drew her from my own imagination, and she's pretty simple with little distinct detail. It must have just happened that she looks like something you've seen. I can't check it out for myself, though, because the link won't open for me.

I am not doubting your honor or casting aspersions. I am merely making a humorous juxtaposition.

Oh, I never meant to sound like I was accusing you. I think more than anything I was kind of reasoning it out while typing and I found it a curious enough idea to post. My point was that I'm not surprised that more than one mind can come up with something like the girl in my picture because her details are so simplistic and generic.

And then I just looked at the pic you linked and I love it! She's hilarious! How cute and clever! Thanks for the link.

One of the fun aspects of this site is coming up with multiple interpretations of the same image. :)

I see the girl and I think your suggestion Aurelian to use the white and gray instead of the dots definitely helped in this instance. Takes a little getting used to since I've been using the dots for at least 7 years!
