Outragious. Fabulous image lala. :)

That really is a wonderful image!!

I didn't track my solve. It took a lot of edge logic and two-way logic. I did get bogged down and finally found a move that broke it free. It was the biggest "look-ahead move" so I did write it down. If it doesn't make sense, you might not have enough dots in the area yet:

- If you try to compact the 1-1-2 from C10 in the bottom 15 rows...it (EL) violates C11 by making dots in R27 and 37. this means that at least one of those 1 clues pushes into R23 or above, fully placing the 1-6 clues near the top.

A lotta guessing! By the time I got the base and the left wing, I started to see a bird perched. Beautiful!

i am sorry its such a guess heavy puzzle, i tried to make it more filled in to limit guesswork but i could not do it while maintaining an image i was happy with

That's the artist's curse. :)

I didn't need to guess at all. One of my favorite puzzles! Thank you.

The image is excellently shaded and detailed, thanks!

HINT: this puzzle is solvable with only MODERATE LOOKAHEAD techniques, using LL, EL and IEL (internal edge logic). David's solution seems right, and mine is also full of edge logic. The step he wrote down is indeed a bit too complicated, but works well.

Here is the way I solved it. Assume basic line logic or the use of the Helper before, between and after these steps.

1. clue 4 in coloumn 3 gets dots in C3R29-30,32-34 (trivial LL)
2. EL on clue 5 in row 2 dots R2C2-6,8,17-19
3. EL on clue 3 in R3 dots R3C18-19
4. IEL on 3 in R5 dots R5C2-6
5. IEL on 3 in R7 dots R7C2-6
6. EL on 4 in C19 dots C19R4
7. C16R5 is black otherwise C16R3-4 are dots, and this would
violate C15
8. IEL on 3 in R7 dots R7C7
9. EL on 3 in C2 dots C2R8-10
10. clue 3 in C2 forces the 4 in C3 to be in R18-27 in any
case, so it dots C2R8-12 (C2R14-15 are trivial LL dots)
The Helper gets it finished.

There are more 'dottable' cells, for example C18R28 (LL), C19R10 (EL) or C14R5 (LL), but finding these aren't required for the solution above.
