Well done in such a small space

I, too, thought this was the name when I was a kid, but the proper name is Yin Yang. The Yin is the female essence - the black side- while the white is the male essence, the Yang.

I once took a macrobiotic cooking class to learn about new ingredients and ideas. All foods are considered to have components of Yin and Yang, with some foods being very Yin or very Yang. The goal was to cook meals that had a good balance between the two. If a person had too much Yin or Yang in them, then you would cook a meal with more of the other one, to help restore balance.
