Hah - the binary operator is: "Is this table solvable on WebPBN?" It sure looks like a puzzle being solved (with not quite good enough focus to read the number clues).

i very nearly skipped this one from the look of the clues...but i looked and saw who the creator was and figured i'd give it a go. glad i did. not at ALL the tedious solve i was expecting and such a great concept. looking at the image at the end, i'm shocked that this has a unique solution!

Strange puzzle. I did some by logic, some by visualizing how "random" the image was - or actually wasn't - coming out. Fun! I remember being very excited when I first saw the multiplication table in third grade. Will have to take a look at the link you provided, Al.
